¡Hola, soy Monica!

I’m a multidisciplinary designer and PM, with an academic background in advertising and UX design. As a creator and experimenter in the design industry, I am astutely aware of the rapidly evolving digital world. I grew up in Guatemala and was raised in a second-generation Chinese household. Even though I was always considered an outlier in my community, I pride myself on having such a unique background. My multiculturality has allowed me to further connect with those around me, truly what has fueled my passion to understand and sympathize with others in a meaningful way.

My mission is to integrate cultural awareness into technology and promote self-actualization in this digitalized era by focusing on my creative practice, research, and multidisciplinary experimentation with emerging media technologies. 

My passions extend beyond design and technology. Traveling, food and sports have made a great impact on my life. I like to be pushed out of my comfort zone and push others back so we can be better and do better.
